HomoDentHealth ("we", "us", "our") provides a dental symptom-triage and clinic-referral platform. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and (optionally) date of birth and gender. Your password is stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we never store or can retrieve your plain-text password.

Health-related information you submit

When you use the Symptom Assessment tool, we collect the symptoms, pain descriptions, and medical-history notes you enter, along with the resulting triage result. This information is sensitive, and we treat it accordingly: it is only ever shown to you, the dentist or clinic you book an appointment with, and platform administrators for support and safety purposes.

Appointment and clinic information

When you book an appointment, we collect the clinic, date, time, and any notes you provide, along with contact details for that booking (which may differ from your account if you book as a guest or on someone else's behalf).

Support and chat messages

Messages you send through the Live Chat feature are stored so our support team and clinic staff can respond and so you can see your conversation history.

Technical information

We automatically log basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and to keep the service running reliably.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and secure your account, including email verification via a one-time code
  • To generate your symptom-assessment result and route you to appropriate care
  • To process and confirm clinic appointments, and send reminders if you opt in
  • To let dentists and clinic staff you've booked with view the relevant parts of your case
  • To respond to support requests and contact-form submissions
  • To monitor for fraud, abuse, and security incidents

We do not sell your personal or health information to advertisers or third parties.

3. Who Can See Your Information

  • You — full access to your own data via your dashboard
  • The dentist/clinic you book with — sees your booking details and any assessment you link to that appointment
  • Platform administrators — limited access for support, security, and quality-assurance purposes
  • Service providers — our email-delivery provider processes messages on our behalf solely to send them; they do not use your data for any other purpose

4. Data Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Sessions use short-lived signed tokens (JWT). All admin and clinical actions require authentication and role-based authorization. We apply standard protections against common web vulnerabilities (input sanitization, rate limiting on sensitive endpoints, and HTTPS in production).

5. Data Retention & Your Rights

You can view and update your profile at any time from your dashboard. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by using the "Delete Account" option in your profile settings, or by contacting us at the email below. Some records (e.g. appointment history needed for clinic record-keeping) may be retained for a limited period as required by applicable healthcare record-keeping practice, even after account deletion.

6. Not a Substitute for Medical Advice

The Symptom Assessment tool provides general guidance based on the information you enter. It is not a medical diagnosis and does not replace an in-person evaluation by a licensed dental professional. In a dental or medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.

7. Children's Privacy

HomoDentHealth is intended for use by adults booking care for themselves or, where appropriate, on behalf of a minor in their care. We do not knowingly collect account information directly from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
